Key Notes for Canadian Buyers
M5 RAM tiers: Base M5 goes 16GB / 24GB / 32GB. The $2,099 entry config is 16GB — fine for most, but 24GB ($2,399) is the sweet spot for longevity.
Storage upgrade included: M5 Pro now starts at 1TB (was 512GB same price). M5 Max starts at 2TB (was 1TB). Effectively a free storage bump.
Base M5 launched Fall 2025 — it's the carry-over chip. The M5 Pro + Max are the new March 2026 additions and represent the main upgrade.
Wi-Fi 7 / BT 6 require M5 Pro or better — Apple's new N1 wireless chip is only in Pro and Max models, not the base M5.
